So now I have a prescription expressly forbidding me to embroider.

Lame.

In the meantime I'm working on larger-scale projects, intermittently posted to my flickr page. Thanks for looking & hopefully I'll be back soon.

Sigh.... So what are you supposed to do? Watch the boob tube all day?

Hope you feel better soon.

Virginia - I don't know!! Using my hands is something I absolutely need to do both for my job and my sanity. I guess I will have to catch up on reading. Suggestions welcome!

Did the doc really write "stop cross stitch at home?"
Wow - poor you.
Without the use of your hands - I just don't know either - reading I guess, as long as holding the book doesn't hurt your hands/wrists either.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yeah, I had to bite my tongue to not correct him. I don't do cross-stitch! But, same difference when it comes to hand use, I suppose. :p

Oh no! I hope you get better soon.

I once got a prescription forbidding me to go on vacation with my in-laws. I was thrilled! I waved it around proudly, and sat my weary 8-months-pregnant body on the couch and enjoyed the silence. I still have that prescription on my bulletin board. I wouldn't have gotten out of that vacation without it!

It reminds me that a)good things can come from unexpected places, b)to find creative ways to get what you need and c)to make my own "prescriptions for life" when I really need them.

Oh, I'm sorry! I hope you heal soon.

I've been checking out your blog from time to time. Very cool!

Nicole, I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm having craft related hand problems too (avoiding the doctor for fear he tells me the same) so can really sympathise with you - rest up and get better soon

Can you use a machine?
Or a slave of some sort?

I feel the world deserves your continued embroidery input... :(
